Is an upright worth the same care as a grand?
The good ones absolutely are. Multi-laminate pinblocks, thick veneers, a sand-cast plate and a solid spruce soundboard were normal in a quality upright a century ago, and the rebuild sequence is the same as for a grand.
Can you get a piano out of a rowhouse?
Yes, with planning. Narrow stairs and tight turns are normal in Baltimore and our movers deal with them routinely, but tell us about the access when you enquire rather than on the day.
Do you work with conservatory students and faculty?
We work for whoever owns the instrument, from institutions to households. What matters is whether the piano justifies the work, and we will tell you plainly either way.
