Which bench height is right for a piano?
A standard bench suits most players, but height matters more than people expect: your forearms should be roughly level with the keys and your shoulders relaxed. An adjustable-height bench solves the problem for households where a child and an adult share the instrument, and for anyone who plays for long stretches.
What is a duet-sized bench?
A duet bench is wider than a standard bench so two players can sit comfortably side by side, which is what you want for lessons and four-hand repertoire. Ours come with a music storage compartment in the seat, in black, walnut, mahogany, unfinished or a custom finish.
Can you match a bench to my piano?
Usually. Bring or send a photograph of the instrument and we will match the finish as closely as we can from stock, or order a custom finish. Bench cushions can also be ordered to match.
Can you repair or refinish the bench I already own?
Yes. Loose joints, torn seat covers and worn finishes are all routine work for our shop, and the same hand refinishing we use on furniture applies to benches. Call 716-832-0013 to discuss it.
