Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to move a piano?
Every move is unique and is priced according to what it requires: the type of instrument, the number of stairs or turns, doorway and elevator access, and the distance. Because we move pianos so frequently we are able to offer highly competitive prices. Call 716-832-0013 for a moving quote.
Can you move a piano to an upper floor or through a tight staircase?
Yes. Second-floor and difficult-access moves are routine for us, and where a stairway will not take the instrument we arrange a hoist. Our crews move pianos every day of the week and carry the equipment for awkward jobs as standard.
Do I need the piano tuned after it is moved?
Usually, though not immediately. Give the piano two to four weeks to settle to the humidity and temperature of its new room, then have it tuned. The journey itself rarely knocks a piano badly out of tune; the change of environment is what shifts it. We can schedule the tuning at the same time as the move.
Do you move pianos out of the Buffalo area?
Our own truck covers Buffalo and Western New York. Beyond that range we still get the piano here: for restoration customers further afield we facilitate the move with our partner piano movers and coordinate the whole job, so you deal with us rather than booking freight yourself. Note that outside Western New York we take on major repair and full restoration work only, not tuning or minor repairs.
